The re@son I described th@t s@l@d @nd this one @s “re@lly good” versus something like “the best” or “the ultim@te” is bec@use I h@ven’t tried @ll of the p@st@ s@l@ds in the world. Plus, even if I did, wh@t I think is best might be different from you think is best. M@ke sense?

This p@st@ s@l@d recipe is from my mom. While she often comes to me for new recipes, I @lw@ys go to her for cl@ssic recipes from my p@st. We m@ke @ good te@m like th@t! I’ve loved this p@st@ s@l@d for ye@rs, so I’m h@ppy I fin@lly h@ve @ ch@nce to m@ke it for you.

@s you c@n see, this p@st@ s@l@d recipe h@s @ lot of delicious little goodies mixed in – cheese, olives, broccoli, pepperoni, s@l@mi, @nd so on.

I think the v@riety of ingredients cre@tes @ wonderful combin@tion of fl@vors @nd textures. However, if you h@te olives (or @nother non-essenti@l ingredient), feel free to le@ve them out.

Honestly, it’s person@l preference, but here @re @ few of my f@vorite p@st@ s@l@d ingredients:

sh@rp chedd@r cheese, cubed
s@l@mi, cubed
cherry tom@toes, sliced
green pepper, chopped
b@n@n@ pepper, chopped
olives, whole @nd chopped
red onion, diced
broccoli, sm@ll florets

@lso, when you’re chopping @ll of the ingredients, I recommend keeping the pieces pretty sm@ll. This is my trick for cre@ting @ny re@lly good p@st@-type s@l@d.

The go@l is to get @s m@ny of those t@sty fl@vors into @ serving @s you c@n. If you only h@ve eight pieces of broccoli in the s@l@d bec@use you cut them so big, it’s likely th@t not every serving will h@ve broccoli.

1/4 cup red onion diced
1 cup broccoli chopped
1 cup green olives sliced or whole (I did @ mix of both.)
1 cup sh@rp chedd@r cheese cubed
1/2 cup b@n@n@ peppers chopped
1 cup mini pepperoni or pepperoni cubed
1/2 cup s@l@mi cubed
1 cup cherry tom@toes sliced
1 medium green pepper diced

Dressing:

1/2 cup red wine vineg@r
1/3 cup sug@r
